This Privacy Policy explains how the Kaaba & Mecca Ringtone application ("the App", "we", "our") handles information when you use the App on your Android device. By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
1. Information We Collect
The App does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information (PII) such as your name, email address, phone number, or location.
The following non-personal data may be collected automatically:
- Usage Analytics: Anonymous event data (screen views, feature interactions) collected via Google Firebase Analytics. This data does not identify you personally and is used solely to understand how the App is used and to improve its features.
- Advertising Identifiers: Google AdMob may collect your device's Advertising ID (GAID) to serve ads. You can reset or opt out of ad personalization in your device's Google Settings.
- Crash Reports: Anonymous crash and error data may be collected to help diagnose and fix technical issues.
2. Permissions Used and Why
- INTERNET: Required to load ringtone listings, stream audio previews, and download ringtone files from the content API.
- ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE / ACCESS_WIFI_STATE: Used to check whether an internet connection is available before attempting to load content, preventing unnecessary errors.
- CHANGE_NETWORK_STATE / CHANGE_WIFI_STATE: Declared as part of the AdMob SDK dependency. The App itself does not actively change your network or Wi-Fi state.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 12 and below): Required on older Android versions to read previously downloaded ringtone files saved to device storage.
- WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE (Android 9 and below): Required on older Android versions to save downloaded ringtone files to the Music folder on your device.
- WRITE_SETTINGS: Required to set a downloaded audio file as your device's system ringtone, notification sound, or alarm sound. This permission is only used when you explicitly tap "Set as Ringtone / Notification / Alarm" within the App.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS: Used to send an optional daily notification reminding you of a new ringtone pick. You can disable this at any time in the App's Settings screen or in your device's notification settings.
- VIBRATE: Used to provide haptic (vibration) feedback when you interact with buttons in the App.
- com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: Required by Google AdMob to access the Advertising ID for ad serving and frequency capping.
- com.google.android.c2dm.permission.RECEIVE: Declared as part of the Firebase SDK. Used to receive push messages if Firebase Cloud Messaging is active.
3. Storage Usage
When you download a ringtone, the audio file is saved to your device's public Music folder (Music/Kaaba Mecca Ringtones). These files remain on your device until you delete them manually. The App stores the following data locally in its private app database:
- Your saved Favorites list (ringtone IDs and titles)
- Your Download history (file paths and metadata)
- Your View/Play history (ringtone IDs and titles, kept for 30 days)
- App preferences (theme, language, notification settings)
None of this locally stored data is transmitted to any external server by the App.
4. Internet Usage
The App requires an active internet connection to:
- Browse and search ringtone listings from the content API
- Stream audio previews
- Download ringtone files to your device
- Load advertisements via Google AdMob
- Send anonymous analytics events via Firebase Analytics
Downloaded ringtone files can be used offline after download.
5. Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services. Each service operates under its own privacy policy:
- Google AdMob – Advertising. Google Privacy Policy

- Google Firebase Cloud Messaging – Push notification infrastructure. Firebase Privacy
- Google Play In-App Review API – Prompts you to rate the App on Google Play. No data is collected by us through this API.
6. Children's Privacy
The App is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children. If you believe a child under 13 has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at the address below and we will take steps to delete such information.
The App contains advertisements served by Google AdMob. If the App is used by a child, parental supervision is recommended.
7. Data Security
All network communication between the App and content servers uses HTTPS (TLS encryption). We do not operate servers that store your personal data. Locally stored app data (favorites, history, preferences) is stored in the App's private sandboxed storage on your device and is not accessible to other apps.
8. User Rights
You have the right to:
- Disable optional daily notifications at any time via the App's Settings screen or your device's notification settings.
- Delete downloaded ringtone files from your device's Music folder at any time.
- Clear the App's locally stored data (favorites, history, preferences) by clearing the App's data in your device's App Settings.
- Opt out of personalized advertising by adjusting your Google Ad Settings or resetting your device's Advertising ID.
9. Consent
On first launch, the App may display a consent dialog regarding ad personalization (in compliance with Google's EU User Consent Policy). Your choice is stored locally and respected for all subsequent sessions. You can change your preference by clearing the App's data.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
